Nicole and Patrick's Wedding

This last weekend I headed down to San Diego with my good friends Jennifer and Jamie to attend our friend Nicole's wedding. We had a great time hanging out with her and her San Diego friends. The ceremony was beautiful along with the weather. I wish we could of stayed longer.

San Francisco

John had surprised Mary and me with a trip to San Francisco a couple of weekends ago and this was the weekend we got to go. We flew down Saturday morning, checked into our hotel, and then spent the day sightseeing. We took a cruise around the bay and then got tickets on one of the double decker tour bus and spent the day cruising around the city. We rode the trolleys, went to Chinatown, visited Fisherman's Wharf, and Union Square before flying back on Sunday night. We had a great weekend and I can't wait to go back and visit again with John sometime.

John and Peyton

On Saturday, we went over to Desert Aire to visit my brother Jim and his family. They have a house over there and John wanted to go and ride his ATV so I hung out while he went for a ride. He also took our nieces Peyton and Riley on a little ride too. We just spend the one day there as John has a few projects around the house he wanted to work on.

Vancouver Half Marathon

Jamie and I after the race

This weekend, I went up to Vancouver with my friend Jamie to participate in the Vancouver Half-Marathon. It was lots of fun. There was over 12,000 people who participated in either the half-marathon and marathon. We started the race at 7:00 am and were done by 10:00 am. It is crazy to think about the runners who are able to do a full marathon in the time it takes me to do the half. I can only dream that I will one day be able to run a mile that quickly let alone 26.2 miles. We spent the rest of the weekend relaxing and shopping before we headed back on Monday.

Port Townsend

We went to Port Townsend this weekend with John's family to celebrate Easter. Both of Mary's sisters were there with their husbands. Chris and Andrea came up and also John's cousin Dave stopped by with his girlfriend Joanna. We stayed at Fort Warden in one of the Commanding Officer's Houses. John and I decided to drive up to Whidbey Island and take the ferry across directly into Port Townsend. We didn't think it would end up taking us two hours to get there, but it did and we missed the ferry we planned to take by 10 minutes. So we had to wait another hour and a half for the next ferry. Luckily we had nice weather so John drove his remote control car out by the beach. The trip was short, but nice. John and I actually spent our first Easter together in Port Townsend with his family. To top off the weekend, John surprised his mom and I with a trip to San Francisco for the weekend in May. He already booked the hotel and flights and had a list of restaurants for us to choose from to go to dinner. He wanted to take us, but with his work schedule most likely he would have to work. He just wanted to thank us for everything we have done for him and has known that I have wanted to visit San Francisco for a while. This is one of the reasons I love him so much - he is so sweet and thoughtful and always is very appreciative for anything people do for him.

Pepper Gets a Haircut

Pepper's coat was getting a little too long so John shaved him the other day. Now you can see how skinny he really is. Because of the weather we have him wearing a fleece shirt so that he isn't shaking. Mocha's up next.
