Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we went over to John's parents house. Usually we go to my families and then to Johns, but since my parents were in Utah we just had the one Thanksgiving meal. John and I made the turkey and took care of the dessert. John was very excited to use his new baster which allowed him to inject flavoring into the turkey and since he is the cook in our family, I just stayed out of the way.

We brought Pepper and Mocha and they got to play with Chris and Andrea's dogs, Lucy and Daisy. When everyone was done eating, John gave the dogs lots of turkey to nibble on which of course they loved.

Kathy Griffin

Saturday night I went and saw Kathy Griffin at the Paramount with my friend Jamie (John was very releaved he didn't have to go with me. It was so much fun. I love her show "My Life on the D List" and watch it all the time. This is the second time we have gone to see her. She is hilarious. This show was really funny, but I think the last one was better. Anyways, we had a great time our heads hurt from laughing so hard during the entire show.

Back to Work

John is going back to work tomorrow and we are so excited. After being on strike since September, the union voted yesterday to pass the new contract. This means back to work for John Monday morning at 5:00 am. He has another week of training and then he will be on his 19 day schedule working 2:30 to 11:00 pm.

Pumpkin Eaters

Last night, John had found that one of our pumpkins had been smashed out on the street so he brought all of the other pumpkins inside for safe keeping. He was pretty sure it was done by a group of teenagers who were hanging outside on the corner in our neighborhood and of course being John he did have to say a few things to them about taking other people's pumpkins. Well later that night, we found Pepper and Mocha were chewing/licking the tops of their pumpkins. We don't know how they got them off, but they were really enjoying eating the pumpkins.

Peyton and Riley with Pepper

This year for Halloween we dressed up Pepper and Mocha as convicts. They love being dressed up and the trick or treaters love seeing them. Before Riley, Peyton, and Brody went trick or treating in their neighborhood they came over to our house to first. Since they live so close, we love seeing them in their costumes and they love to play with and to hold the dogs in their laps. We of course had tons of kids at are house this year and ran out of candy again. I bought extra candy to begin with this year and also ran to the store to get more candy, but it just wasn't enough so we had to shut down the candy operation at 8:30 and there were still tons of trick or treaters out on the streets. I think John was giving every kid 4 or 5 pieces of candy - he just can't help it. All in all we probably had over 100 kids come by our house. At the end of the night the dogs were tuckered out - all of that looking out the window and running to the door everytime it rang was really hard work for them!
